Fader Curve
The setting for how the crossfader or channel fader responds.
Detailed explanation
The fader curve determines how the crossfader behaves as you move it. A steep curve (scratch curve) cuts the signal almost immediately — ideal for scratching and fast cuts. A flat curve (mix curve) blends gently — ideal for club mixing. Most DJM mixers have adjustable fader curves.
In practice
If your crossfader is already fully open after a centimetre, the curve is set sharp — good for scratching, useless for smooth transitions. Set soft, you need the whole travel for a change, but you can blend gently. This setting is not an advanced detail: anyone wondering why their blends always arrive abruptly has often simply never touched it.
