Peak Hour
The high point of a club night, at maximum energy.
Detailed explanation
Peak hour is the stretch of a club night with the most people in and the highest energy — typically between 1 and 4 in the morning. The peak-hour DJ plays the most energetic, hardest tracks of the night. Peak-hour sets demand the best track knowledge and the strongest crowd reading, because the pressure is at its highest.
In practice
The room is full, everyone is there, and right now you get to play the tracks you have been saving for weeks. Peak hour is the shortest part of the night and the one where least may go wrong: short transitions, known records, no experiments. The most common mistake is not bringing too little energy, it is spending everything too early and then having an hour left to fill.
