Mix

A transition between two tracks, or a recorded set.

Detailed explanation

“Mix” means two things in DJing: 1. A single transition from one track to the next — “a clean mix”. 2. A recorded DJ session — “I recorded a new mix”. A professional mix shows clean beatmatching, correct EQ handling, right phrase timing and coherent track selection.

In practice

Mix means two things, and the context usually makes it clear which one. One mix is the transition between two tracks — the move you make a hundred times a night. The other is the recording of an entire set that you upload. Beginners asking for feedback almost always mean the second; someone saying the mix did not land almost always means the first.
