DJ Tool
EQ frequency map
What happens where in the spectrum?
An interactive map of the whole frequency spectrum from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Click a range to see which instruments live there and what happens when you boost or cut it.
What you learn with it
Understanding the three EQ bands (LOW/MID/HIGH) on a DJ mixer. With them you can separate tracks cleanly in a transition and avoid bass clash.
How to use the tool
Click the coloured spectrum bar at the top — or one of the list entries
The detail area shows what sounds in this frequency range
Boost effect: what happens when you turn this range up
Cut effect: what happens when you pull it out
DJ note: how this range maps onto the LOW/MID/HIGH band of your mixer
The most important DJ move: during the transition, pull the LOW band of track A out while track B comes in. Then LOW on track A at 0 and track B at full — no bass clash, a clean transition.
